Doc G is a physician who discovered personal finance at the height of career burnout. He grew up in a nice middle/upper class family and was afforded all the comfort he ever needed. He writes daily about the philosophy of financial independence at diversefi.com.

In this episode we talk about overcoming perfectionism, writing a blog post every single day and where he finds inspiration, his day job in hospice and nursing home care, common regrets we have at the end of our lives, things we should and shouldn’t say when someone is dealing with grief, how losing his father when he was 8 years old has shaped his career, discovering financial independence, advice for those aiming for FIRE, why enough is a tool and not a destination, and creating a life of purpose.
