Allison Baggerly is the founder of Inspired Budget. She has combined her passion of teaching and finances to help others learn how to start budgeting.  Allison’s passion for budgeting surfaced after she and her husband found themselves newly pregnant and under $111,000 worth of debt. They did not have enough money left over each month for daycare expenses, so they knew something had to change. It was during those years of sacrifice and paying off debt that she realized just how much she loved finances and taking back control of her money through budgeting. Now Allison is helping women all over the world get started with budgeting when they feel lost and overwhelmed.

In this episode we talk about how she grew her popular Instagram account, paying off $111,000 in debt, how she broke through a spender’s mindset and found a good balance between saving and spending, and the lessons she learned from  buying a Coach purse.

Matt Theriault is a Marine Corps “Desert Storm” Veteran who enjoyed 15 successful years in the music business as a record producer and label owner. When the digital download killed the record store, he found virtually everything that he had built become obsolete in a matter of months. The demise of his music business was swift and unforgiving to the point that Matt was forced to start life, personally and professionally, from square one at the age of 34. The transition from a 7-figure year to $7 an hour bagging groceries was a humbling one to say the least.

Today, Matt is a real estate investor and mentor has built a cash flowing real estate portfolio of 100+ units over the last 10 years, is enjoying his financial independence, continues to build his portfolio and has discovered a new passion for creating systems and showing others how to replicate his results.

In this episode we talk about his fascinating background and what he learned from his work, the best advice he ever received, how he got started in wholesaling and made money doing that, investing in his own properties, building up to 350 units, and things to think about when going from a duplex to a 40 unit property.
